George Kent (Malaysia) Berhad is a Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) engineering leader with a long and proud history in Malaysia. The company was first established in Penang in 1936 as a service branch of its then parent company, George Kent Limited, Luton, United Kingdom.

In 1951, it was incorporated in Malaya as George Kent (Malaya) Limited and subsequently changed its name to George Kent (Malaysia) Limited in 1965. George Kent became a Public Company in 1967 under the name George Kent (Malaysia) Berhad, and has been listed on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange since 1974.

Emphasising professionalism, and drawing from its years of experience and extensive technical expertise, George Kent Malaysia Berhad continues to provide quality M&E products and services to a number of industries such as the water, process, flow and building industries. Its three areas of business are manufacturing, infrastructure projects and trading.

As a manufacturing company, our brass forging plant, the largest in the region, produces a full range of water meters for domestic, commercial and industrial uses and fittings for the water industry. The manufacturing Division also contract manufactures OEM non-ferrous products for industrial customers both foreign and local. Our brass casting plant produces brass rods for our own consumption and local sales. The FRP plant manufactures Fibreglass Reinforced Polyester (FRP) panels for water tanks using the superior MMD (Matched Metal Die) manufacturing process.

As an infrastructure company, our Contracts Division has accumulated experience in turnkey contracting and project management for the construction upgrading, rehabilitation and expansion of, water treatment plants and related facilities, such as raw water intake plants, pumping stations and power generating plants. Our services and capabilities in this area also include providing Operations & Maintenance (O&M) services for water treatment plants and the privatisation of water utility companies which are undertaken by the Infrastructure Investments Divisions.

As a trading company, we offer a directory of products and services to the water, process and flow building industries under our Metering, Non-Meters and Contracts Divisions. These include meters (and other related metering products), non-metering products for the water industry, instrumentation, telemetry systems and services, building automation/management systems (BMS) and building security systems (BSS).

The quality and reliability of our products and services are well established and recognised not only in Malaysia, but also in the many other countries where we have a long track record of doing business. Today, George Kent’s international presence extends to the ASEAN countries, Hong Kong, South Asia, Australia, England, Middle East, Africa, Papua New Guinea and Fiji.
