Manufacturing has always been the core business that enables George Kent to established itself as a leader in water-related products industries in the region. Manufacturing  operations commenced in 1965 with the assembly of water meters. George Kent had also contributed significantly to the nation’s manufacturing sector with the technical collaboration and licensing agreement with Sekisui Aqua Systems Co. Ltd. of Japan in pioneering the production of Fibreglass Reinforced Polyester (FRP) panels for sectional water tanks in Malaysia in 1986 that paved the way for technology transfer.

George Kent is the largest water meter manufacturer in the ASEAN region that meets the highest international standards. Water meters produced by George Kent are distributed throughout the world where its ISO Class ‘C’ rated water meters is the preferred product in many countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia and Philippines. The meters other exports market includes Hong Kong, Papua New Guinea, Thailand and the list keeps growing.

The manufacturing facilities are  located on an 17 acres integrated facilities complex in Puchong known as the George Kent Technology Centre.  Besides water meters the manufacturing unit also produce other non-ferrous products for the water and related industries. Building on the strengths of its resources and expertise in brass manufacturing technology George Kent is also a key OEM supplier for other brass products and components for other industries in the global markets.  The plant is equipped with advanced hot-forging presses, casting, machining lathes and testing facilities that are capable of producing a wide range of high-precision engineering brass products like water meters, stop valves, draw-off taps, float-operated valves, ferrules, ball valves, lockable valves, water connection fittings, LPG cylinder valves and other machined parts.

George Kent also has another wholly-owned manufacturing subsidiary, Brass Alloy Sdn Bhd that produce brass rods with a annual capacity  of 2,000 MT. Current annual production is 1 million water meters and 10 million pieces of other brass-forged products. All the George Kent manufacturing operations are ISO 9001:2008 and ISO14001:2004 certified. With strict adherence and compliance to the product standards set by Malaysian and international authorities, many of its products also have other International product certifications. Besides its own-manufactured products George Kent also distribute a range of valves and fittings, penstock, floodgates and other related products, instrumentations and equipments to serve its customers in the global water industry.
