Specialising in undertaking turnkey projects, privatisation, project financing and management, operation and maintenance of water-facilities, the Infrastructure Investment unit to deliver the followings to meet the company's business objectives:

  • Expand the company’s involvement in water infrastructure projects in the regional and global markets;
  • Prospect for and invest in privatization of water infrastructure projects to generate new recurring revenues; and
  • Promote the sales of the company’s range of products and services in turnkey and privatisation projects undertaken by the unit.

On BOT projects, George Kent is currently an equity partner of PNG Water Limited, the Concessionaire undertaking the US$120 million Port Moresby Water Supply BOT Project in Papua New Guinea. George Kent's is the operator responsible for the management, operation and maintenance of the water treatment plant which is being upgraded from 136 Mld to 270 Mld. The concession period of this Project is 22 years commencing on June 1997.

With its past involvements as a promoter and lead-partner in bidding for a series of major BOT projects in Malaysia and overseas, George Kent is regarded as a major player in this market segment of the water industry:
